Best bet is probably neglecting the kid, alas, or maybe the split household thing. Just not sure if the game will allow you to split off a baby on its own or not.
No matter which way you go, make a new save before you start in case something goes south.

Quick ticket to an irreparably corrupted save. The Delete function only gets rid of the instance, but leaves all of the underlying data intact. Eventually the game will want to do something with the baby, won't be able to find its instance, and will have the digital equivalent of screaming hissy fits when it can't find it.
