EA_Mai is taking info so that they can investigate this problem further, if you can DM them that that will probably help a lot with getting your game back on track
now i know im not the only kid without the ability to log in
I sympathize (and empathize). FWIW, edgelord is correct that you do not need to be logged in to play the game. I think I logged in once when I installed so I could retrieve my Store content and have not been logged in (in-game) since. I did purchase a couple of things from the Store a while back, but did the installation through the launcher while I was logged in at the Store with my browser. NetPCDoc says this works better with Internet Explorer than Chrome (the way I did it) and I'll defer to his technical expertise on that question, but it worked, which was pretty much all I cared about anyway.
What you lose by not being logged in is really only a couple of trivial things. (1) you can't buy stuff from the Store in-game, (2) you can't post stuff to your social media (no idea how well Facebook is supported, but do your friends really want to see a bunch of Sims-related posts?), and (3) if you have Showtime installed, you cannot use the SimPort functions (not that it worked exceptionally well anyway).
Once one has a valid account at any of these three - origin.com | thesims3.com | store.thesims3.com - sites and an active internet connection while playing The Sims 3, regardless of what the error messages may say, the most common reason for not being able to login from inside the game is because you are ALREADY LOGGED IN!
Should you be browsing any of the above sites from outside of the game - remember that you need to log out before playing The Sims 3 if you desire to login from inside the game!
Except for the purpose of downloading official content - the actual choice of browser may be whatever works for you ...
Downloading of official content (presumably from the store.thesims3.com site) will use MS-IE "hooks" to download into The SIms 3 Game Launcher's Downloads panel. Content so downloaded may be installed from the Downloads panel of The SIms 3 Game Launcher. So one should not need to login from further into the actual game to get such content.
Edit: be advised - if The Sims 3 Game Launcher is not running when a download (such as explained above) is initiated, you may have a few extra hoops to jump through (pop-ups, etc) as the MS-IE hooks go about getting The Sims 3 Game Launcher up and running, so that it may receive such downloads.
I had been hoping to get custom content but cant seem to get it, looks like i need a proper sims account....which i cant do even with an orgin account.....stupid EA
Have you tried using the exact same login info to login to either the thesims3.com or the store.thesims3.com sites?
As The Sims 3 does not always properly notice when you are already logged in:
If you want to login from a particular point within the game, then make sure you are logged out at any points before you get to said particular point within the game!
Depending on what you registered, you get some SimPoints, some stuff (World Adventures had a bunch of safari-themed clothing, furniture and whatnot, for example), or Riverview (for the base game). SimPoints can be redeemed at the Store (store.thesims3.com) for stuff or worlds. I got about enough points to buy Hidden Springs, if I remember correctly, but the other worlds required more points than what I got for registering content and some can only be had for cash.
That "origin login" is what you need to use to login (i.e. "your proper sims account") at either of - thesims3.com or store.thesims3.com - sites! The store site is where you get Official non-DLC (non-EP & non-SP) custom content. If your favorite Internet Browser is other than Microsoft's Internet Explorer (aka MS-IE) and you are still having issues ... then maybe you should try using an up-to-date MS-IE to browse the store site?
And any rewards for whatever you redeemed at origin.com should already be waiting to be claimed at the store.thesims3.com site; to rephrase (for clarity) - you will not be able to re-redeem whatever was redeemed at the origin.com site, as that has already been redeemed - but the already redeemed rewards should already be unlocked when you login with the same account id at the store site.
Downloads (to The Sims 3 Game Launcher) can be initiated directly from the store site!
