Also note a couple of things before you proceed. The Mac version of the game is crippled in that it can only address 2 GB of RAM no matter how much you have installed whereas the Windows version can work with almost twice that. That can be very limiting if you intend to install many of the Expansion Packs or play long-running games that progress far.
Also note, again if you stay current on your Mac OS, that Mojave will most likely be the last one that can run the game at all. Apple is dropping support for 32-bit applications entirely and the writing on the wall is that the next version of the OS, not yet named and probably to come out in Sept of this year, will not run it. There is no 64-bit version of the game for either operating system.
I still play TS3 on my Mac, but only by having Bootcamped Windows onto it and playing the Windows version of the game instead.
