If you want to make it happen super fast and easy, use the Master Controller mod from nraas.wikispaces.com (don't even need the Cheats add-on). Click the Sim you want to become pregnant -> NRaas -> Master Controller -> Basic -> Pollinate. Then select the other parent (you choose from a list of people in town - don't recall whether homeless, service, or role Sims are included on the list) and accept. You'll get a message that "<Sim> has been successfully pollinated" and you'll get a baby in about 72 Sim-hours.

You mean, the baby will be born, or they will just be impregnated?

MC has two different functions for this. Pollinate causes the sim to be impregnated. Instant Baby (this one requires the MC Cheats add-on module) causes a baby to be produced immediately without the pregnancy and birth.

How do I cease the baby from being born (to cancel the birth/ pregnancy)

On the sim, NRaas > MC > Advanced > Pregnancy > End Pregnancy (MC Cheats module required)

It probably goes without saying that ^^this^^ will not work with the Instant Baby function, but best to cover all bases. Besides, who doesn't love having their Sim stop what they're doing to go throw up? "Defecating to the sunrise ... downright glorious." (need to stop playing Witcher 3 - it's a bad influence and likely does not bear the stamp of approval of Forces for Good in the Community)
