Does an umbrella protect vampires from the sun?
Just wondering

I always thought it had to be a parasol though, whereas a regular umbrella only keeps them dry when it rains. Not so?

when my main sims (Anton Zavarak) was a vampire, he got an umbrella in his inventory because of raining reason, and everytime he was going to work, he automaticaly took his umbrella off his inventory when at day like here's rain outside, which are protecting him from the sun.

parasol are not "wearable" object like the umbrella and the jetpack, only placeable, but if you like irony you can try to sunbath your vampire while being protected by a parasol, never tested it so if you want to test irony, you're free to do ^^

I don't think we're talking about the same things. A parasol from Build/Buy is the same size and looks just like an umbrella, with the difference that it doesn't say "waterproof" on the object name. It does have a Use command on it when a sim is carrying it in their personal inventory while outside. They can't sunbathe under it, they have to be standing upright to use it. Of course it does nothing for the rain, but it protects from overheating when the sun is out.

What I didn't know all this time is that an umbrella (waterproof) would provide both protections.
