Does overwatch belong in Overrides or Packages folder? SOLVED

I just installed the mod and don't know if it belongs in either of those.

It really doesn't seem to matter* - your choice.

I put everything in subfolders in Packages, so there's a folder in my Packages titled "NRaas" that has Overwatch, ErrorTrap, Traveler, and Decensor in it. Technically, I guess all are either "overrides" or "scripts" but I don't think the game cares what the folder is named.


* in the Resource.cfg file, the folders are enumerated, and each given a "priority". I've just personally never seen an issue with everything being in Packages, with the same priority.

All package files, including NRaas mods, should go into Packages unless the developer specifically says otherwise. It's pretty rare, though. Overrides loads later, so with a higher priority as said. It is only used when the package file "conflicts" with another mod or package based resource it otherwise depends upon to be there.

Out of 1,100 package files (of which around 275 are actually mods, mod related, or scripted objects), I have a total of 2 in Overrides as per the developers' instructions.

I tried ErrorTrap and as soon as the game's first loading screen had the text in the wrong order, I knew something wasn't right (i.e., Ascending Maslow's Hierarchy). Then when I went into my save file the game kept freezing for ever few seconds despite having Overwatch installed. So i ofc removed ErrorTrap and pretended it never happened.

Do you know any other script mods I should try out that won't heavily modify core game files nor are optional, such as Traveler? Since I don't have expansion packs that mod is useless to me, and the tattoo mod in my opinion is stupid and useless.

I have used script mods before in l4d2 so Master Controller is very similar to Admin System, although I have yet to use any of its commands.

probably not since i know for a fact that my game will never run well on my laptop as sims 3 doesn't officially support amd integrated chipsets. if i had intel hd graphics or dedicated amd gpu then i'd be able to make the game run better after some few mods and file changes.

the igpu that i have is the amd radeon r5 graphics. i checked everywhere in the os and there's no indication to the specific model, as there are many r5 chips out there. but mine has a core clock speed of 720 mhz and video memory of 512 mb. too bad sims 3 only uses 32 mb of video memory unless it recognizes the video card. basically, my integrated card is more powerful than intel hd 3000 but weaker than the 4000.
