The Sims™ 3

Dual Screen?
After I set up dual screen sims 3 wont open, and even turing off the other screen wouldn't work. What do I do? It wont even open the start up screen.

You could try starting it up in windowed mode. I've heard it won't do fullscreen dual monitors, but if you do windowed, with the resolution set to cover both screens, it can work.

To try this, open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, and there locate the Options.ini file. Right-click it and choose "Edit".

Inside, find the line reading "fullscreen = 1" and change the one to a zero. You may also want to set the two numbers for the "resolution" line, but you can also change those after you get the game up and going, using the settings in game. Save the file, close everything up, and see if the game will start.

I think the other way would be to have your video card pretend it's one large display rather than dual monitors. I've never done it though, but you could look into it, depending on the brand of video card you have.

Hi Howl At The Moon : just letting you know the sim 3 doesn't support dual monitors you need to unplug the second to make it work
