No, I tired setting all that up and IDK what I'm doing wrong but nothing works so I just gave up trying to install mods and stuff like that. I do great with Cities Skylines mods and such, but I'm not tech savvy enough for all that's required to do that for Sims here I suppose.
I just have the base game and a few of the expansion packs from Steam. I will just deal I suppose. No more holiday lights for me in any city. It's not like you see them very often anyway. 99% of the time I have walls down & focusing on the sims anyway. Thank you though. You've been very helpful in other posts and it's appreciated.

A couple of other quick and simple things. First, I assume you have Seasons installed, otherwise nothing about holiday lights is going to appear. You probably do since your aim is to remove them rather than add them, but I'm just trying to be clear for anyone who is following after and stating the obvious is sometimes necessary.
This problem came up shortly after Seasons released, but I recall someone complaining that you couldn't do anything with holiday lights if the game was paused. Not sure if that got fixed or patched when later EPs were released, but it's simple to try.
If the holiday lights options are not appearing when you click on the front door, does the option appear when you click on the back door? You might need to set the back door as the front door in order to check. If you click on the back door and are not getting the option to set as the front door, you probably need to reset the lot. I can do it with a mod, but no idea how to do it through the command console.
If no to either one, have you tried deleting and replacing the exterior doors and then redesignating the front door as such?
I will try it again using your instructions. I will let you know later. Thank you. This was much more clear than what I'd looked at before to install this.
When I loaded the game I got the pop-up window message that it was in my mod folder and I clicked the checkmark/ok button. I played a game for a couple of hours and quit. Is there supposed to be any other messages if it's working? I got none.
You're fine. If you had installed anything wrong, you would not have the pop-up notice at the main menu. Neither ErrorTrap nor Overwatch do interactions. If they catch something, you'll get a notice about it, but this most commonly happens about 3am when cars are removed from inventories and stereos get shut off. Other than that, they'll generate log files when they hit something and you will get an in-game notice if you want to follow up on it. "Error Trap Recorded: 1" tends to pop up once or twice per week in my game, for example, and that tells me that there is a log file to go check.
