Sims won't go to sleep or use restroom!
So, I just recently discovered that some or all my sims won't go to sleep or use the restroom (even if they really need to) if any kind of party is thrown, if teens go to prom, or if sims go on a date. I can receive party guests and my teens can go to prom, the issue happens after the event is over. I command sims to use restroom or go to bed and the command cancels out instantly, my poor sims eventually pass out from lack of sleep or they pee themselves when their bladder is full OR sometimes it won't let a sim back inside the house so they're stuck wondering outside the house. I tried buying new furniture (beds and toilets), used 'reset sim' cheat code, and even moved entire family out of town and placed them back in but nothing seems to work. I have been playing Sims for years and this is the first time I’ve ever encountered something like this. Please help! :( I have Seasons, Pets, and Generations expansion pack.

No, I am not. I'm not running any type of mods in my game but should I?

Okay it's fixed. I used the MasterController, Overwatch, and ErrorTrap mods. Once I used MasterControl to reset the entire town I threw a house party and all my sims were able to go to sleep afterwards! There is just a teensy bit of lag but it's not a big deal.

Error trap and overwatch are truly the miracle mods for this game. I've really enjoyed MC Cheats as well. It allows me to keep a better hold on my sim family as the kids move out and grow their own families. Without it they can be killed off, move and sometimes even seem to forget they are related. It's a truly annoying bug that should have been fixed ages ago, but EA kinda sucks in that department. LOL
You can also have more than the max 8 in one lot with that mod, but once you max past 8 sims it's a real pain in the butt to manage them all and I kinda like them having their own homes. Besides, switching houses with MC Cheat mod is very simple and quick. I have an old computer and everything runs just fine with the mods.

That's interesting, I wasn't aware you could go past 8 sims in a single lot. I currently have a family of 7 and was debating whether to have another baby, adopt, or turn my Sim's imaginary friend into a real sim since it would be the last sim before I maxed out lol. I've always been afraid to mod but now I see what I've been missing, can't wait to see what else I can do to make the game more exciting.

You can get a mod that will increase the portrait panel as well. My household has 21 sims in it right now. You can only have 24 portraits on screen, so if you have more than that in your household, you have to scroll (or use the space bar) to find them. If you do get into larger households, I highly recommend that you turn off memories!

21 sims in a single household??? That's insane. I had no clue that was possible but sounds like a cool challenge. Thanks for the tip!

It'a all up to you how many you can manage in one place, I didn't like so many, maybe 10 was the most for me. But I enjoy switching homes and checking in on others. You can "open" other houses and watch the sims there while staying in control of your current lot. I do that and sometimes interrupt if I see something I don't like. LOL
I do recommend the Nraas MC Cheat mod along with the MC Controler. I have had no issues using those mods and my computer is hardly top of the line. It's over 6 years old, but of course the game is too. I didn't bother wtih the Story Progression though, I looked into it and it does take a bit more of a computer to handle the load it adds to the game, it just depends on what you have and what your PC can handle. I may try it out someday, but for now I'm enjoying what I have.

So, the original problem of sims not being able to sleep/enter house started once again. I threw a pool partying seeing how I had no issues with the previous party I threw and when the teens went to prom. I tried to reset the whole town, the lot, and individual sims but when they try to enter the house a "NRaas Error Trap Script error [sim name]" appears each time and of course because I was so distracted with changes I made I haven't saved in a while -.-

When I've had problems with sims not sleeping, I've used Nraas DebugEnabler. You can click on a bed and reset it individually. Do that for each bed with problems.

I think sometimes items get rogue scripts attached to them which don't end properly, preventing anything else from using it. The karaoke machine is *notorious* for this.

I recently had to reset both a bed and a rocking chair after a burglar visited the house. Sims would reset (with an error trap) every time they tried to sleep or nap.

I added the NRaas DebugEnabler mod and it seems to be working fine now but then again it did the same thing when I added the other mods. Hopefully it works, thanks!

I never have this issue after prom or parties but I do when parents/adults go on vacations. I am speaking about the free ones that come up constantly so your teens can have a house party. (not vacaation dlc ones) Whenever they come home from one of these adult vacations they can have all sorts of issues, from not sleeping in their own beds (I set ownership cuz it's just odd to me to see teens or young adults sleeping with their parents!...unless there were no other options this isn't going to happen in my family at least) but worse than that is their emptied out personal inventories. I stopped doing them alltogether, even though I enjoyed the teen parties somewhat, but it just isn't worth it. I know this is a bit off topic, but it's odd how we can all have slightly different bugs. As I said I've never had an issue after parties or prom, but sometimes pool parites can leave a smoky water ring around a sim or two, really annoying, but reseting them usually works.

No that's interesting, thanks for sharing!
I have a new issue now lol It's not so much the whole bed and toilet action cancelling out now it's actually sim script errors. For example, I was in the middle of a pretty awesome pool party until someone brought down the toddler and set her down on the porch outside. Eventually she started crying so I had one of my sims pick her up to take her back in the house but only took a few steps towards the door and it gave a script error on the Sims and toddler and teleported them back to were they originally stood, the baby even started floating in mid air for a sec. No reset if any kind help so I had to restart game :(

Second time it happened was during a costume party. Pizza delivery guy/girl rang the doorbell, put the pizza on the floor and a script error came up and wouldn't move. Most of the sims on the lot started getting script errors too and it was a complete disaster. Ever since I got the DebugEnabler mod it seems to be working fine but we'll see. I swear if it's not one thing it's another -.-
