The Sims™ 3

Lesbian relationships
My female Sim is dating another female. If the relationship becomes serious, is it possible for one of the females in the relationship to be a surrogate mother by being impregnated by a male or perhaps from a sperm donor? I haven't gotten that far into their relationship yet, but when I'm ready for them to have a child, I'm looking at my options, whether it's getting one of the two female Sims pregnant or via adoption.

Thanks :)

you would have to adopt a child. you could cheat on her and have childeren with a guy also.:steamhappy:

You could use mods to "Pollinate" her with your other sim in the relationship, I think. Nrass's MasterController is the one, I believe.

Not a fan of mods, but thanks.

The relationship right now is....complicated.

My female sim is now in love with the other female sim - who also happens to have a husband :steamsad:

Sooooo, I just have to keep working at it, get my sim's new GF to leave the husband and move in with my sim.

Then maybe I can bang the soon to be ex-husband and get pregnant LOL.

But most likely, i'll go the adoption route.

Thanks for the replies :)

There are only two ways to do this without mods (as far as I know).

You can get The Door of Life and Death[store.thesims3.com]. As far as I know it allows genetic merging regardless of gender, but the child must be an occult of your choosing. (Not sure about this because I never used it myself)

Or you can go the future world(requires Into the Future), and use the engineer a baby option at the hospital. The baby will be the genetical offspring of the two sims you engineered a baby with, again regardless of both sims' gender. You also have the ability to customize the baby with this option if you choose to do so(Gender, hair color, eye color and traits. Other stuff are genetically random I believe). If you don't want that, you can always choose to randomize genetics the usual way. I have used this method myself, and it is great! :)

There's a Guide for that

I hadn't messed around with the genetic engineering route at the time that I wrote it, but if you have Into the Future and don't want to mess around with mods, it's definitely the least complicated method.

There is also the clone voucher, a LHP reward in Generations, which gives your sim a child with the appearance regressed from the sim who redeemed it, and 3 of the sim's traits copied over. That is a child however, not a baby.

You can also have your sim reproduce he new born rself, or any other sim by cloning (University, I think.)

I know you said you're not into mods but I'm pretty sure that the NRaas Woohooer mod can help with same gender relationships if you want to have a child. It does work, I just tried it with two females.

Another adding a comment for modding, because they're actually really easy to install, and there are many, many different ways to add to the game through mods! I would highly suggest downloading NRaas mods, not just for this situation, but also just as a way to create smoother flow in-game. There are many out there that'll help fix bugs and such -- but I kind of feel like I'm promoting a little too much. If you're really uninterested in modding your game, I can only really suggest adoption or the cheats others have listed above.

I hope you find something that helps!!

Oh, I may actually look at the mods. I use them all the time on Fire Pro Wrestling World. I just gotta figure out where to begin as I know there are several mods out there. Just a matter of getting them installed.

Thanks :)

If there are FAQs out there for mod installation, can you point me in the right direction? Thanks again ;)

I can at least get you started with a few mods that help the game run better and with fewer errors. Check my guide, below, in section 3.9. It lists four mods; the first three are definitely must-haves.

Madam, but you're welcome :D:

Yes. Those NRaas mods, especially Overwatch pretty much are required to keep a your game stable and without performance bottlenecks. The game itself is horrible at cleaning up unneeded junk, slowing your game down to a crawl. And once you already installed one mod, you might as well add Master controller that lets you manipulate the world a lot better, and the mod you are after to have your same sex relationship sims conceive without the help of aliens.
