Dirty surroundings is stuck to my sim
I've cleaned every little thing in the house daily. And no she isn't a neat freak or anything like that. The bigger problem is that it follows her EVERYWHERE, even outside. I changed ehr outfit in case it was that but it doesn't help. The dirty surroundings notice is stuck in 10 minutes. Has been for the past few days I've played. Any help?

You may have already checked this, but also look in her inventory - garbage or spoiled food there can give them a similar moodlet.

Also, mine had it and I looked everywhere, but it turned out to be an old newspaper sitting on their lot.

Turn on the developer console (ctrl+shift+C and type "testingcheatsenabled true" (no quotes)). Now ctrl+click the dirty surroundings moodlet to make it go away. You can open the console again and type "testintcheatsenabled false" (no quotes) if you want.

I did not know about the newpaper. And forgot about dirty items in the inventory. And as for the food, how long does it normally take for food to spoil when it's in your inventory? 'cuz I've had half a dozen fish in my inventory for quite awhile. . . .and they aren't spoiled yet.

Uncooked fish and produce never spoil - in fact, the fish are alive and can be put into a bowl or tank.

Only prepared meals spoil, and I think it depends on the meal.

Yes, oddly enough fish live longer out of water, if you put them in a bowl they die if you miss even one day of feeding. So silly. The newspaper thing bugged the crap out of me for the longest time before I Googled the issue and read about that. ! I had one in the bushes by my house once and was going crazy trying to fid out what was wrong, they got it even inside the house if they were within a few squares of the darn thing. What's worse is I had a house full of neat freaks...it's a shame that "clean house" doesn't actually include everything. And I wish that option was there for any sim, it's really cool.

So, I probably ran into this issue a while back and didn't notice it. I had 3 newspapers on the front porch. I only noticed when the paper-kid (is that pc enough to today's standards?) dropped the new one on the curb, 50 ft from the front door. If you notice them, they turn brown-ish/grey-ish and can not be read, only recycled. Good to know that they attribute to the moodlet. But, I agree. It's kinda dumb for them not to be included with the noraml cleaning routines.
