ContentPatch folder is empty
I have some items from sims store not working properly in steam's sims 3.
ContentPatch folder in documents is empty and afaik the latest patch should be v2.2. Is this normal?

As of December or so, EA stopped offering up the Store Patches to 1.67 Launcher users. I have two messages out to community managers on the official forums asking them about this, and so far no responses. Afraid I'm not sure they knew what I was even talking about. Apparently 1.69 Origin users do not need the Store Patches, but that leaves players of the Steam and Mac versions of the game out in the cold.

Copying the entire ContentPatch folder from a former install or a formerly used TS3 game folder, if available, still works. So does bugging a (usually) friendly NRaas staff member by PM if you want and we can arrange something for those who are totally stuck without them. :)

They prob dropped the entire game except leaving online store open, but will never fix the 2014 newer contents bugs.
So I've downloaded it somewhere but not sure if it's correct. There's 'Download' folder with contentpatch 0001 part to 0007 part in it, and a contentpatch dot package file. Even that, it doesn't work when I was hoping it'd fix bakery seller rug can't be placed next to a wall, can't drag the dish and sometimes dessert name spawned as serving plate. Not a big deal since mods and cheats can prob deal with those, but it's just feels incomplete and lack of effort from EA.
When I uninstalled steam version and installed origin again. The content patch folder becomes empty again, but I guess that doesn't matter now if they won't bother with it.

The store content released after Jan 2014 like the bakery set are not impacted by the ContentPatch. It was all essentially kind of disjointed leftovers being jettisoned into the store; the developers at EA were gone or reassigned by then. Based on what most of those later store sets were, some of us think there must have been a Farm/Foodie EP that never got off the ground and maybe another one centered around amusement parks, circuses (the gondola), etc.

I am inwardly chuckling because (1) I hadn't noticed that my launcher had not gone through the patch download process on this install, (2) hadn't noticed that the ContentPatch folder was empty and thus (3) was not even aware of the problem until I came across a post or two on the official forums. Fortunately, I had enough backups of my Documents folder stashed on enough external media that I was able to find the missing patches with a little searching.

Yeah and they made almost each premium pieces, either get the whole set or nothing for a price of EP on steam with less gameplay.

I have backuped the folder after downloading in hope of fixing bugs, but like I said it doesn't matter now since it won't fix the later contents after 2014 anyways.

Just as an addendum on this issue, anyone needing the content patch stuff can snag a copy of the ContentPatch folder's content from my site where I have linked a .zip file (just unzip and put everything into your ContentPatch folder)

Additionally, ZeeGee on the official forums uploaded something similar
