Sunset Valley emptied download?
I tried the files on mod the sims but they wont work, like it won't appear in the downloads section on the launcher when i put it in there. and the file must be old because it says doesn't have .Sims3Pack at the end. and when i changed the file address to Sims3Pack it didn't work. it wasn't compatible. could i please have a clean world of any kind like that takes seconds to load it doesn't have to be sunset valley. i just need anything that works. thanks. (That works as of 2019 not a 2009-2010 file that likely doesn't work anymore for this version

ModTheSims - The file formats haven't changed since 2009, although player made content could have become obsolete along the way for other reasons. Can you link us to an exact example of what you found that doesn't work? I suspect you are seeing compressed file downloads such as .rar files that require a third party tool like WinRar or 7-zip to extract the real files. But it could be something else.

Sims 3 website content - Origin isn't required for any of this. The site offers up store items for sale by way of sim points, and an Exchange for player made items with no quality control offered. Your game may need to be registered on the store site, however, and either the Origin program or the origin.com website (just as good) must be used to purchase bundles of store sim points by credit card if desired.

Okay, what was being offered on the one at MTS I saw marked as "obsolete" was never meant to be installed by the Launcher. It was meant to be a saved game and goes into your Saves folder to be accessed as a "saved game" already in progress. Now, that file format is indeed outdated because saved games became folders, not single files, after a bunch of patches came out but the older single format is meant to be backwards compatible.

In other words, assuming you can extract from the .rar file properly, put the .sims3 file in your Saves folder and then see if you can load it as a saved game. The game should make a proper save out of it and change the name of the older format single file to "legacy" or something like that.
