Try it...
Open console with CTRL + MAJ + C
enter the code resetsim *
Do enter and don't forget the little star.
Every sims will be sand at a secure place, most of the time near the front door, you will loose nothing.
If you have the mod master controller you can also try with it to reset the lot and/or the compactor.
Things I tried: reinstall, moving Sims 3 folder from Documents folder to let the game generate a new one, Nraas + those mentioned above.
Maybe Igazor or Cruinne will have answers for you...!
Not exactly solutions in either case.
Was hoping someone else could spot what could be causing such a persistent effect that it survives reloads of the game, cache clearing, and the user game folder rebuilding, to the extent where it crosses over into other saves.
I wish it could get fixed somehow. I'm really sad. :(
Still, thank you anyways! Even though it's still unsolved, I really appreciate the help.
It's ridiculous. If anyone's interested, I can make a video of how it looks like. The bug itself would be one thing but not having a fix at all... plus it's a game-breaking glitch. It makes the whole game unenjoyable. If someone can solve this, I'm seriously gonna salute that person.
-Config panel, programs, uninstalled a program, right clic on the sims 3, uninstalled.
-After this,....to make it clean in steam folder, go in Steam/Steamapps/common/ the sims 3 and delete everything in the file.
-Do a ccleaner job on your pc and restart your pc.
-Re-download the game and try it.
Your problem may come from steam backup files witch are re-used when you re-installed.
Sorry for my bad english....!
Hope this will work....!
We can blame EA for shipping a flawed game for many reasons certainly, but I wouldn't be so quick to write this one off since it's not exactly a widespread problem.
Frankly I've seen tons of glitches and bugs in games but this one takes the cake.
Besides Steam, I've posted this question on 2 more sites already (one being EA's Answers just as Igazor asked) and no one has a clue what it might be.
About recreating worlds... dunno if it'd fix it as the glitch affects brand new clean saves as well... but I guess it's worth a try, got nothing to loose. And task re-creating. She did not stop her action even after I gave her a new command. Instead she just finished cleaning up the juice box then started doing my command afterwards, that's when it all started..
It's a total mystery. xD
Alternative: the computer has some sort of virus or malware that's causing it as a bizarre side effect.
Does NRaas ErrorTrap provide any logs of errors going on? If not, I think I'm back to the virus/malware suggestion.
My computer is hardly 2 years old and mostly used for gaming so I doubt any viruses or the like are present. The only websites I'm visiting are strictly safe, I try to be as responsible while browsing the internet as much as I can.
I tried reseting the whole town with NRaas before with no luck. I also didn't get any errors as far as I know.
Are your searching for a solution to play again with The sims 3 or a solution to play again with your loving sims of that bad saves with the glitch...? You whant to correct the glitch or erased it...?
When you say...I can make a video of how it looks like. For me it's look like you still have all the same game you had problem with in your pc and did not re-installed and clean the right way or you are just skeeping one or many step.
In clear,...i don't think you will be able to play again with the sims you whant. You have to say good bye to them.
After that, here you have many players with lots of hours of play how encountered many problems and they are all saying to you the same answer in different words.
That answer is a...... very fresh new install of the game.
That mean....clean everythings. The pc side, documents side, steam side, virus side, cache clearing side, garbbage side.
Moving files from one to another it's not enough.
Doing a new world and a new save beside the old ones it's not enough.
If you had really done all it's written in this tread by all the helpers and made it the right way,....excuse me to say that but, like cruinne said....It's seems impossible that your kepping the problem....!
Maybe you are doing something wrong or just don't whant to try it the right way because that means loosing your sims....?
Sorry if i am a little rough with you but here's a problem very to "much weird" for me.
Don't forget...
There' EA side with all the bugs we all know from them, but there is also Steam side that is frequently forgot and the possiblity of a virus that are at my own oppinion a very good guess.
Again sorry if i say what you don't whant to read. I would be very happy if you solved your problem and it's why i'm writting this.
Bonne chance....!
