The Sims™ 3

Showtime, Into the Future and Island Paradise?
I see everything's on sale atm (which I've been waiting to catch for forever!). I'm actually a big Sims fan (I bought all the expansions for Sims 1 I could get my little hands on) and was wondering how good these expansions are? Would you recommend them even off sale? See I'm tempted to get them as well but I already got Late Night, University Life and World Adventures from the sale to go with Seasons, Generations, Pets, Supernatural and Ambitions that I already have.

I guess what I'm asking is, is there anything that makes Showtime, Into the Future and Island Paradise particularly more enjoyable for you guys or that makes them stand out some way over the others?

Of those, Showtime can actually be kind of annoying, imo; I really dislike the performance careers and the big thing it was supposed to add (SimPort, or being able to send your Sim "on tour" in your friends' games) doesn't really seem to work any more.

All three are pretty much at the bottom of my rankings of the EPs. It is not because they are bad EPs as much as they don't add anything to the game that I find especially interesting or useful. As far as doing what they are intended to do, they're all good. That being said, the Isla Paradiso neighborhood is very poorly designed and you'd be well-advised to use a cleaned up version like EllaCharmed's world fix ( https://ellacharmed.wordpress.com/category/world-fixes-2/ ) rather than the one that shipped with the EP. If they add something that you might like, then get them and the sale is a great time to do that.

Of the ones listed, I don't have "Into the future", but I'm also not much into Sci-Fi.
Personal, I'd suggest to look up online what the expansion packs add in terms of content.
For example, Showtime adds Djinns and this time, wishes can't backfire Also, yes, I tried one performer career and I don't like how they work. It's an interactive job and all you do is telling your sim what to do or else he's just standing there on stage doing... nothing.

The world of Island Paradise really needs a clean up, since bad pathfinding will softlock the game every few minutes. Otherwise, I think the world is pretty and I do like the mermaids.
I also like the life guard job, though it only properly works properly on Isla Paradiso. It can still be used on other worlds, but Sims only faint there, instead of having a cramp while swimming.

I suggest reading carls sim guide, it has plenty of information about the contents (plus lists and pics on what the Accessoire packs have, if you're curous):
https://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/

There's also the Sims-Wiki,also with an overview on what each world adds:
