Apartment Room Pitch Black

I was trying to build an Apartment room, and finishing up the walls before furnishing it, when I realized that the main Open space was completely dark. 100% Eternal Pitch Blackness. No amount of Light, Windows or Lack of ceiling could penetrate it. It also seemed that If I knocked down a wall connecting to the other side of the Pitch black room, the room on the other side becomes the whole room, meaning it will become pitch black as well. Don't know why. Strange. Please help, someone. I think it has to do with Markers in Late Night, but I entered BuyDebug Mode and there were no Markers in the room at all. I tried adding a "Public Room" marker, but it didn't do anything either. I'm confused.

Do the Markers apply for building levels? I have only 2 "Hidden Room" markers, and right where I want them to be.

This is the floor of my Sims Apartment Room, no markers to be seen. Only the ones in the previous image.
