3 files failed to validate (verifying cache) - Game always crashed
Hello.
So my TS3 always crashed after the loading screen, I have tried to verify cache and 3 files failed to validate.
  1. I have tried verifying the cache 5 times already.
  2. I have reinstall the game 3 times.
  3. My TS3 doesnt have mods/additional in game stuff
  4. I have 5+ of DLCs

TL;DR
I cant play my game at all.
I was about to give up; but it means I'd just waste my money.
Anyone can help me with this? Because EA wont seem to help. Neither Steam Support.

Thank you in advance :)

Three files failing to validate is normal - those are settings/options that should be re-downloaded from Steam every time you verify.

What is your video card? Are your video drivers up to date? What version of Windows are you running?

When you say you've reinstalled, when you do, do you totally remove the local files manually (find them under Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3)?

Have you tried starting in windowed mode? (In Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, find Options.ini. Right-click it and choose "edit". There, find the line that reads "fullscreen = 1" and change the one to a zero.)

Nvidia GTX 765M graphics card and yes, my video driver's up to date. And OS is windows 7. (sorry for not mentioning about these earlier ><)

I am currently reinstalling it (again) and I'll do what you've suggested! thank you :)

the same thing happened... It stopped working right after the loading bar is full...

God this is frustrating.... :steamsad:

You can try running the secondary installers again, then restarting your computer before trying to load the game. (A bit of a PITA, but worth it if it makes the game run!) I'd also make sure your .Net is installed and on.

To run secondary installers again:
  1. Shut down Steam.
  2. Go to your Steam Sims 3 installation folder. This is usually found in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\the sims 3\.
  3. Inside the Install folder:
    1. Locate the VP6 folder and run vp6install.exe.
    2. Locate the vcredist folder and run vcredist_x86.exe.
    3. Locate the DirectX folder and run dxsetup.exe.
    4. Locate the dot net folder and run dotnetfx.exe
  4. Finally, reboot your computer.

I've tried what exactly you suggested, I thought at first because on that folder was the .NET for 32 bit (mine's 64) and I replaced it with 64 one. And I tried the game again and still not responding...

what should I do now TT______TT

I tried to validate the cache thing again and now its four files failed. WHAT IS GOING ON :steamfacepalm::steamsad:

Don't worry about that validation thing - it's really nothing, as I said.

1. Be sure that you're not running anything else when you try to start the game. Even having youtube open in a browser window can badly affect the game.

2. Do a "factory reset". Open your My Documents, then Electronic Arts, and delete the "The Sims 3" folder there.

Oh dear it actually worked thank you so much!!!! :cinnamon2: :nekoheart:
And if there's a
"It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of TS3"
Do I have to do the factory reset again? Though I've made sure my Sims3.package are compatible...well if they're not at least they wont be installed...
Do you have any idea how to solve this... because I have my old Sims that I want to play again and she's using TS3.package...

(I wonder if its the Mods' fault?)

Sorry that it sounds like a stupid question but I think I need to be careful or else my TS3 wont work again...

I'm looking forward for your answer :steamhappy:
Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH! :nekoheart::nekoheart:

You're going to have to remove whatever mod you have. Usually mods are <filename>.package, not <filename>.Sims3Pack.

Check its site to see if there's an update for game version 1.67.

I just updated my mods and as a result TS3 wont even start :(
I removed all my mods too and the same.. wont start either...

Do you have sims3 packages with houses and stuff and do they work??
cruinne Nov 28, 2016 @ 7:50am
Yes I do. It might also be a caching problem. Did you remove your temp files when you changed the mod versions?

If not, inside your Documents directory's The Sims 3 folder, locate and delete the following files:
  • CasPartCache.package
  • compositorCache.package
  • scriptCache.package
  • simCompositorCache.package
  • socialCache.package

Also:
  • Inside DCCache, remove missingdeps.idx and dcc.ent
  • Inside Downloads, remove all .bin files.
  • Inside SIgsCache, remove all .bin files.
  • Inside SavedSims, remove Downloadedsims.index.
  • Inside IGACache, remove all files.
  • Inside Thumbnails, find and delete all .package files and all files thumb_*.png files. Also, if there is a FeaturedItems folder, delete it entirely.
  • If there is a WorldCaches folder, delete it.

If that does not work, try the factory reset again, then only put CC back in a couple items at a time, making sure the game works after each install.

Yes I have tried that! Btw I finally found the answer!
It was my pre-made sims that I downloaded years ago all along! Oh God.... :steamfacepalm:

Anyway... Do you have any tips to reduce the lag?
I found the mod and it doesnt help much though...

I'm sorry for asking you so many questions ><

Main way is using Overwatch.

If you're also using Isla Paradiso, then it's good to get EllaCharmed's fixed copy from ModTheSims. http://modthesims.info/d/514909

its a *.world file, I'll just put it under Packages folder is it okay?

Update :
I found this tutorial,
  1. Move customworldname.world to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds
  2. You will see SunsetValley.world in the same folder
  3. Move the remaining .package files (if there are any) to your Mods\Packages folder
    Test your game

But mine doesnt have the "Shared" folder, is it okay to make it manually? :steamsad:
