Honestly no, it's not worth it money wise nor is it worth it to buy all of the expansion packs. I do believe that there are some add ons that enhance the game, but I would never buy all of the expansion packs. I typically use the Supernatural, Seasons, Late Night, and Generations expansion packs and that is plenty to make the game feel like it has everything it needs. I believe anymore tends to be over kill.

I did, eventually (slowly, over the years, when each was on sale at a good price). I like having them, though yes, some are considerably better than others. I have guides on the SPs and EPs, to tell you what's in each, if that helps.

Only..buy the DLC when they are on sale for like 5$ like i have.

They're on sale now. No, you don't need all of them.

I think it's worth it to buy everything that isn't a "Stuff pack".

Stuff Packs are a Mileage May Vary situation. Depends on how much you want just new objects like clothes or furniture to use. $5 is kind of steep for some of this stuff, especially with it's age and how much each pack tends to add.

But I ended up buying almost everything too. I picked up the stuff packs this autumn sale, and have everything now except for the Diesel Pack.

Worth noting that if you register your DLCs with a Sims 3 Account, you get a free 1000 Sim Points for most of them (or all of them, not sure) plus "free" rewards packs for all of the major DLCs. There's a lot of stuff on the sim store that can be worth buying, like new maps or objects that add new skills or features.

Makes "Stuff" packs look more worthwhile since you can also buy other stuff when you register them.

I believe the 1000 simpoints are only for WA.

Nope. I got 18,000 Sim Points last night registering all of my DLCs at the same time.

Huh. All I've ever gotten is 1000 on my initial buying of the base game, and I have a number of EPs.

Make sure you register everything via your The Sims 3 account or Origin. Then you need to go to your The Sims 3 account and keep clicking to get your free Sims Points on your account page for every DLC you register.

I've only ever gotten the free items as well... IPaladini, if you could explain how this worked for you with a bit more detail, it would be appreciated!

It was a pain in the butt, but I registered my game with a The Sims 3 account on EA. It's an older site and parts of it don't even seem to work anymore. (Can't even buy Sim points unless you go through Origin instead.)

When you're logged into your Sims 3 account (NOT ORIGIN.), you can "activate a product" and mash in your CD-keys from Steam. Alternatively you can log in to your Origin Account, if your Sims 3 game is registered there first, and punch in the CD-keys that way (It's easier since you can copy-paste. The Sims 3 site does not automatically exclude the dashes that Steam will print to your copy clipboard.)

It can take a while to register, if you do it through Origin you may have to login to the game first before your rewards start to appear on your Account Page. But if you've registered each DLC on either site, and you're sure that the same game CD-Key is registered, you should find a "get your free sims points" message under your Avatar on your Sims 3 profile page. You have to click that and refresh the page for every registered DLC you have.

I got 18,000 Sim Points for owning almost every Steam DLC except for Diesel Stuff. That's 1000 points for every DLC, as I own 18 DLCs. This is in addition to all of the rewards packs you get for specific DLCs.

I have registered all of my expansions, but I had no luck getting simpoints. Oh well, thanks for posting anyways.

IF you're going to edit worlds in CAW that someone else made, it goes a lot better if you have a complete library of all the EPs and SPs.

OTOH, some of the SP are pricy for what you get - I only use the motocycle out of "Fast Lane", for example. "Diesel" is just clothes, but some of them are nice.

The EPs add game play, tho. Great, but a lot of it is duplicate. For example, the alchemy bench from SN and the Chemistry bench from Generations - both create ways to extend life and shorten sleep time. Similarly, SN can make a friend potion and University has the relationship transmorgifier.

If you're Prince Talweed and just hanging around (upside down) in a luxury hotel and have $7 billion, buy it. The price can't be beat even by American mercenaries.
