there are other story progression mods, like Awesome mod and NRAAS Story Progression. I like the NRAAS SP because you have a lot of control, - but it's complicated and takes time to learn how to use it.
When this happened I never used any mods...
So yes, it's normal. If you make your sims read the newspapers, one the things they could read about is households that have moved out or moved in the world.
I've also had a case where sims I have moved out using the kick out option, have moved out completely from town lol.
Probably the game removed (moved out) the family because these premisses were missing.
That's the point.
The game's default Story Progression (enabled on the Options menu) makes background events happen to Sims you're not currently playing as, like marriages, babies be born, random deaths, people move in, people move out, etc.
(As well as allow Sim families you're not currently playing as to gain skills, money, etc)
The problem is, EA's default Story Progression isn't very good, as it doesn't take things like Traits or Relationships into account. So you could end up with a family of 5 suddenly have the father up and marry some total stranger. Or a neighbor family you like just suddenly up and moving away (i.e. deleted)
For the most part, it's because EA's vanilla Story Progression only checks the town's demographic/population.
If the town's population goes over a certain hidden number, SP kills or moves out random people until the numbers are within the limit.
Or if the population is too low, it pairs up Sims randomly (even if their Traits are incompatible, or they already are in relationships, or don't even know each other), and has them have children.
That's one reason NRAAS Story Progression is viewed as superior to the game's default one, as it DOES take things like Traits, Relationships, etc, into account.
And it also allows you to adjust its settings to your liking.
Kind of.
Because there was now one less habitable house for Sims to live in, that likely lowered the town population cap.
So EA's Story Progression compensated by removing some Sims.
Strange, I added those mods to mine, and I've never had any problems. I'm hardly a veteran modder myself, but I've never had any issues.
They were each just one small file (.package format) that you drag and drop in the right folder.
You did add the two files to the C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder?
Packages folder, and not the Override folder?
Before installing I made sure to Install the CORRECT version of the mod based on the game version. I had the latest origin version of the game. I followed all guidelines on NRAAS website. Im too scared to try again in case it will just mess up my world even more.
I has something kinda like that happen once.
However, it was after I'd installed something custom clothes.
It was a simple enough fix, to use Nraas Master Controller's Stylist option and switch her back to the correct hairstyle.
Recently, a prop she had got removed.
However, the game had been acting strange before this, and I suspect ErrorTrap removed the object due to it causing an error.
I later repurchased the object (after using Master Controller to add the required funds (only seemed fair to reimburse the Sim for an error destroying the item))
Furthermore, I had that issue where a family photo didn't load in the frame, until after I cliked to open it, and selected the picture within it, thus putting in back on display.
------
Considering the mod reports it has to remove 6,000+ cars each night, I get the feeling I'd have massive glitches and/or lag if I didn't use it.
Is the mod causing problems, or is the Sims 3 really that bad at de-spawning cars?
