Overwatch and errortrap actually does make the game run smoother and far better.
Ever since installing overwatch and errortrap my game has been far far smoother and better to play. I dont feel as much freezes all the time (dont remember anyone happening) atleast the freezes have decrease from second to milliseconds to small they are not noticable.

This is even after adding story progression mod + I stil run all DLC's. This was also installed in the middle of a save I used allot of time in. It is like the whole save is just running clean and smooth now. It even fixes the bugs I had with my image frames ceasing to work. These mods are truly awesome!

They are amazing mods, aren't they?

Supposedly, they can also fix the issues with Island Paradise's horrible lag.

(I never experienced the issue myself, because I downloaded the fixed .world file for it, which corrected the 2 issues that caused the lag (one house's poor furniture placement, and one pregnant sim that didn't get maternity leave like she's supposed to have))

But still, it's good to have options.
----

ErrorTrap is also good at catching Sims when they get stuck, and can reset thier location, fixing any lag (and likely saving the Sim's life).
And it's good at removing despawned objects (like cars) from the game. Each night, I get the report that it removed about 3,000-6,000 cars.
A lot less junk data for the game to struggle with.
-----

So yeah, for newcomers to the game, NRAAS's Overwatch and ErrorTrap are highly recommended.
Even if you don't like mods, and just want the vanilla game, you still should get those two at least, as they fix countless bugs and lag.

How do you get 3000 cars removed each night lol? I have had a maximum of 60 on a really old save. Playing hidden springs map.

Honestly, I'd love to know that myself.

I'm guessing when Sims are moving from lot of lot, the game is failing to despawn their cars correctly?

But I really don't know what's going on with my game.

There is a bug with limos in the game. I don't know why or how but when someone in the town hits the career level which they get a limo by the default, they spawn somehow thousands of them instead of just one. I use a mod to disable them in the game. Have a look at here: http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUploadsRemote/uploads/1581/

And also NRaas Traffic might help as well. I have both NRaas Traffic and the mod I mentioned above and I get 0 vehicles removed every night (well most of time, sometimes one or two gets removed)
