Changing characters

I'm a newbie here. Yesterday I continued a game started months ago and I can't remember how to switch to another household to play with its characters. Can I play with every character into the households in a given town? I understand that, in order to play with characters in another town, you have to start another game, unless you move them to the current one. I am beginning to suspect that I've lost my characters, because I also lost my entire configuration (grafic mode, etc.)

Depending which town you play, it will by default choose the city name as the saveGame file.

You should be able to find all your save games .. named according to city you were playing.

I been playing Sunset Valley so my saves look like this:
Sunset Valley 0001
Sunset Valley 0002
Sunset Valley 0003

I use the default city name and just add a "4 digit serial number" so I can easily go back to previous saves.

Here is where "my" saves are located .. Your saves would likely have a similar address.
C:\Users\USER-NAME\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves

And yes, you can play any character in town.

You just "Edit Town" .. and select different household.

Configurations get wrecked sometimes .. You might need help to reConfigure when you're ready for that discussion.

NRAAS Master Controler + Cheats.

Click on the member of the household you want to change to...
Click on NRAAS
Click on Master controller.
Click on "Make Active"
