Sims 3 Taking extreamly long to load a new game and even longer to load up a existing save!
Hey, I have sims 3 steam addition and I have always had issues with sims 3 even before abandoning the Origin version for Steam. This is vary annoying and it makes me not even want to play the game when I love sims 3, games take a half hour to load sometimes 2 hours which is just freaking rediculous. Yes I have CC and expansion packs, but if you want the truth I would not beable to play with out it and enjoy my expearience, I also use mods. So I guess I came looking for help on to get the game to stop being so annoyingly slow, OTHER THAN delete some of my CC, Mods, and disable expansion packs. I have tried all the typical solutions that anyone would tell you, such as delete coruppted files and unneeded package files, delete all "featured content" thumbnails, make sure that steam/origin in-game is not running, run with out using internet, and even a bunch of more advanced and technilogical solutions involving computer settings. My computer is a window 10 and is not that old with few files other than game files. Is there anything futher that I could try to get sims 3 to work?

I also have lower game settings so don't bother telling me to lower them anymore, I will also state my computer is a gaming computer and can handle other high demanding games, but always seems to have an issue with sims.

Lastly I will state just to give an idea about the levels of rediculousness I am actually having to deal with right now, all I have to tell you is I went to start a new game after doing all this with no other saves and it took two hours almost three to just finish loading a world that has litterally no built on lots or other sims in it yet, this will probably be enough to make you want to bang/drop your head on your keyboard in annoyance just hearing about this XD

1) whipe your system clean, and reload your OS

2) then go back to Origin

You say you use a lot of mods. Is that a lot of custom content? The more you have, the longer things take to load. You might consider consolidating them into fewer files (they will load faster).

Also, when saving your game, be sure to use "Save as..." not just "Save" as using "Save" makes the save file longer and longer as you play.

There are some links and discussion in my guide about consolidating content - see section 3.8: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=279488894

No both mods AND CC, they are seperate things. But there is a lot of both.

Also I already did most of the things in that guide, but thanks anyways.

I'm specifically talking about section 3.8 and consolidating your custom content. Have you done that?

I can't use CC Magic because my computer is kind of a hardass about letting me do what I want when it comes to what software I can install. I already tried it and I don't have the required programs, then when I went to download the things I need my computer refused to allow me to download these things on the claims of there is already a newer version installed and it gave me no other options even when running as Admin.

Then it appears that very very long load times, or significantly reduced custom content, may be your two options?

Can you use SimPE? There is also a method using it (as linked to in my guide).

Yeah I already have that and I do use it but it does not seem to make much of a difference.
