Which is a good way to get a corrupted save if you do that enough times. Deleting objects (including Sims and animals) only removes the instance from the world, it does not remove the object, which is still stored in the saved game with all of its references. Get enough and your game will become unrecoverably corrupted.
To remove objects without picking up that kind of corruption, use the "Total Annihilation" command in NRaas Master Controller. It removes the instance, the object, and all references to it. As far as the game is concerned, the object never existed. Master Controller (maybe needing the Cheats add-on, too) is at nraas.wikispaces.com
