"Try for baby" not working?

So, I decided to see if one of my sims could impregnate every eligible woman in town, because why not. He successfully impregnated his first romance (at least I assume he did, the lullaby tune played), but no matter how many times I have him "try for baby" with the second the tune won't play. Can he not get multiple women pregnant at the same time? Do they just need to keep woohooing until it works? It's kind of funny, but I'd also like him to get a move on, he's been trying for a baby for like a day and is starting to starve to death.

Though I am not certain about this, you might need to break things off with your sim's previous lover first. You should also make sure the two sims are romantically involved (a heart under the sim's image in the Relationships section of your UI) and that both are living together.

I've had a sim get someone pregnant when the tone didn't even play.

not sure about about multiple women but getting 1 up the duff only requires you to have a romantic interest, you do not need to be living together and one night stands work.

Yeah, he's already romantic interests with three or four women. Also he's trying to impregnate his aunt's mother, but I doubt that matters since they aren't blood relatives.

Unless you are referring to an in-law, your aunt's mother would be your grandmother and you are directly descended from her - that is very much a blood relation right there. Or maybe by "aunt" you are referring to a step-mother's sister?

She's the mother of the wife of his biological aunt. Game calls them both just "aunt".

How both she and her child (his "aunt") are in the adult stage is another mystery (both are randomly generated characters who replaced deceased original Riverview residents)

Okay, in case anyone is wondering, you can totally impregnate multiple women. My sim is now the proud unwed father of several children and a very strange family tree. I guess the lullaby tune just wasn't playing.
