Exchange content replaced with proxy

When you're downloading something on the Exchange and it says "you are missing expansion packs, data is replaced with proxies"

What? lol

Does that impact the gameplay? In this case it was a particular sim, not an object or a lot or something.

I deleted the file out of concern, but what do you all think?

It's probably not a major concern as the modder probably used some custom content that was not included with the mod. The "preplaced with proxies" part means that the leather sofa that wasn't included gets replaced with a base-game sofa, so any changes should be only aethetic rather than functional.
