Report a translation problem
I backed up my files and did this, and it still doesn't work :c
Also when you say that you backed up your files, did you put them back before restarting or try to restart without them?
And finally :-) If you move/rename the folder named "The Sims 3" (inside Documents > Electronic Arts), can the game start up then?
SO, back to square one.
The first thing I would try is running the secondary installers again, but to be sure I right-click > Run as Administrator on each of them. Depending on your version of Windows, this can be crucial.
Rather than re-type it all here, I'll post a link to my guide. You want to do section 2.2 and 2.5, then see if the game will start for you. If not, follow up by doing section 2.3.
