Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Why I Hate Criterion Games Hot Pursuit 2010 PC?
>Overall a very bad, generic and mediocre cops vs racer open world competeitive online multiplayer driving game.

Poorly executed reboot of the iconic and classic Hot Pursuit series, there's nothing original, inspiring or any known additional features added to the game, Instead they remove all of the the classic features and content from the orignal Hot Pursuit games and leave you with basically nothing, a lot of diehard NFS fans were quite disappointed with how the game turned out to be and most boycotted the franchise for the forseeable future of upcoming games for the franchise.

>No arcade style single player - this game has no free roam gameplay, no single player to play outside of online and career mode, just a boring empty freedrive mode.

>Drift mechanic - (one of things i hate the most in that they've added in this game, it literally takes absolutely no effort whatsoever to pull off drifts and yet I've had so many beginners playing this game ask me how to drift, go figure it out yourself, it's way too easy and gets boring after a while).

>Rubber banding AI - not matter how hard you try to outrun the AI, they always seem to easily catch up and pull away from you, no matter how many times the AI crashes or hits into everthing.

>Crash mechanic - literally pulled straight out of Criterions games Burnout (I love Burnout, but I do not want crashing in a NFS title).

>Equipment - (Definetly my most hated feature of the entire game by far) I don't like having to use or be forced to use weapons to compensate for lack of driving skill and vehicle only combat skills, like slamming, shunting, t-bone hits on other vehicles, this was one of the developers big mistakes they've done to this game

EMP weapons are so annoying to deal with, they are my most hated weapon in the game, this weapon absolutely ruins the fun and experience of the game, I always try not to use them because they so broken and overpowered at times it's not even funny.

>The Gameplay - Quite bland, generic, repetitive, boring and tedious, broken and unbalanced...

>Career Mode - This mode for some wierd reason does effect your online stats, even though you are not playing with or against any other players, just CPU AI players, does not have seperate stats for online and offline gameplay, the is a massive difference in term of game balancing between the two modes but for some reason you offline stats count as for online.

The game lacks content and replayability - yes this game feels very restricted and limited in what the game can offer, only three playable online modes, hot pursuit, interceptor and race mode, feels too generic and lack luster for a multiplayer.

>The In-game Cutscenes - Oh boy, you know how much i hate the cutscenes in this game, especially when playing through the career mode of the game, there's no option to disable them and even if you manage to skip the intro cutscene to an event, it will still partially play it regardless of how many times you press the button/key to skip it.

Another thing that i hated about this mechanic of the game was that the In-game AI temporarily takes control of you vehicle when you trigger an in-game cutscene (by busting a racer or by wrecking a cop for example), this is very frustrating because you have literally seconds of this happening with your vehicle under AI control (And you know how bad the AI is in the game) and you also have no idea of what is going on around you and lose track of who is behind or in front of you, it's very important to know your surroundings in multiplayer and to have just seconds taken away from you is a very bad turn for the worst.

When you are on the outside of the cutscene, it hard to tell if your teammates or the opposing has triggered the camera cutscene, because the game vaugely tells you if someone has been busted or wrecked (e.g Hot Pursuit mode), the player has a short but annoying immunity from taking damage from weapons (It's noticed when you deploy before the player eliminates another player) and also from taking normal vehicle damage by another vehicle, the player that is affected by the in-game trigger is also spawns slightly fowards depending on what direction the AI chooses to spawn you in, sometimes the in-game AI likes to spawn you in the complete wrong direction, I've had this bug happen to me numerous times when in-game and had costed me several cop and racer wins because of this.

>Online multiplayer - Is buggy, laggy, broken, also takes FOREVER for a game to start or load i kid you not, it's horribly unbalanced and basically a haven for hackers, modders and cheaters who use various codes, scripts, glitches and map exploits to gain the unfair and illegal advantage, I personally condone anyone who uses anything that's not allowed or prohibited in the game.

However this game does not have any form of anti-cheat software to prevent cheating and to report or ban players who are using external or modding software to alter their copy of the game and their gamplay in way that gives them an unfair advantage over honest rule abiding players.

What the hell was EA thinking?

And not a single hacker, modder or cheater has ever been severly punished with perma bans for their illegal actions and activities when playing the online features of this game on PC, there have been several cases and reports of players hacking that have been sent to Origin and Steam but nothing has ever significantly been done about it, therefore with no real action to crackdown on cheaters that has been ever taken place, many online players have stopped playing the online multiplayer, which is why the game is left with a very small online player base, mostly hackers are in the game...

As a fan of the original NFS (not Criterion, Ghost whatever they are called nowadays) but back in the old days, I soley would not recommend this game to anyone at all.

This game is literally a poorly executed reboot and gross missuse of the NFS license, miss leading and falsely marketed, MW 2012 is notoriously overall the worst remake/reboot in the history of NFS and is despiesed and hated among the NFS community.

Whatever you do, do not buy this game and the following others:

>Hot Pursuit 2010 (already included in this discussion post)
>Most Wanted 2012
>Rivals 2013
>2015
>Payback 2017

These are not your true NFS games, be very mindful of that...

These games (cancer is what i like to call them) will never be as good as the one's before them, i can very much assure you...

Shame on you EA and shame on you Criterion...

I agree.

I agree.

I don't agree, it's not perfect, but it differ some arcade racing games from other arcade racing games. If all games were "the best", they would be all the same - boring and unoriginal.

They ask for a reason, i completed the game with brake drifting and was dissapointed since i could not win a single Racer preview or time trial and it was very hard to win duels and races. Only when i changed to handbrake drifting game become better and more fun for me. The way you drift can make a HUGE difference, dev should have tell us that we supposed to you handbrake.

I agree, that's ruining whole Racer career for me. It's the most disgusting part.

Don't see the problems. Old NFS had crashed too, aren't they?

I strongly and unpolitically disagree, that's make that game slighty more unique, differ it from another racing games AND previous Hot Pursuit had equipment too, that's the biggest reason to keep that ingame.

Don't know about multyplayer, but in singleplayer it's ok, like it was in previous HP.

Explain why then, it's easy to criticise everything that way.

Can't say anything about multyplayer.

Can't say about multyplayer, but agree with singleplayer, Rubber Banding races and boring time trials don't worth replaying them.

I agree, way too many of them. Is that some kind of console game to have so many cutscenes?

I agree, that's sucks and that's what making cutscenes worse.

Multiplayers? Can't say anything.

And then Stellar come with a "Remastered": remastered bugs (plus new ones), bad optimization, downgraded graphics, crossplay (something good, I guess) and 2 cars (R.I.P. Carbon Motors, they car would be the 3rd) out of the game... ah yeah, the DLCs, well, that ♥♥♥♥ should came out in the original HP, but no, Criterion did the same thing as with Burnout Paradise: Sell that DLCs only in the consoles. Why? I dunno, I just hope Stellar don't make any other remastered, sell it as something "new" and with an exaggerated/ridiculous price.
