I own witch hunt DLC but never played it , heard it wasnt great and i didnt want to spoil her story so just avoided playing it.
Really is sad that Bioware doesn't have enough time on their schedule to devote to Dragon Age 3. I hope that they decide to shoot for a game of epicness (bringing every companion back/have a Blight during the mage/templar wars / qunari invasion). I mean, wouldn't it be grand if they went for the big epic game (then they could make a few mistakes like our mage's helmets in DA:O). Unfortunately, I don't think that'll be the case.
I don't understand. They've already announced Dragon Age 3: Inquisition and said they've been working on it for about 2 years. Which sounds like they started on it almost immediately after shipping DA2.
Inquisition already bores me because no hope for past plot strings to be tied up (I understand leaving a few things as unreseolved). I mean, I want to see Morrigan, God baby, and my Warden sometime. I never played DA:2, so I could really care less about Hawke (though I wished the writers and the whole team had done a better job because I saw sooo much promise in DA:2). Also, I dislike being forced to play as humans and people working for the Chantry at that. Its not because of religion, but because it severely limits my choices already. I would much prefer playing as a character caught in the middle of this Mage/Templar pissing contest and (hopefully) a large conflict at hand (say, Qunari/Tevinter/other countries/cults fighting against Chantry authority/true heresies/Elven rebellion/Blight). I mean, I love games that have my character thrown into a gigantic cataclysm. I already had to gather up an army and fight off the Blight in DA:O, why not expand it to trying to keep the world from falling apart?
Also, DA's romances have taught me I just shower people with gifts and they love me. There's not even a hint of romance/ an explanation why a medieval fantasy based game has homosexuals. I don't mind the fact some of the characters are gay/bi, but I want the lore to tell me how the game world views them. But that's a moot point for me. No way Bioware is going to make the romances believable, and that's fine with me.
In short, the developers need a good 5 years to devote to DA:3 before I feel like it has been rushed.
Where did you read about being forced to play as a human in the chantry? That really does suck if it's the case, not sure I could bring myself to play that either. I thought they said they were bringing back a lot of the customization from DAO, I did not know that. :(
As for homosexual relations, what? It's not really necessary to have an explanation about how everyone views that. It's obvious that the gameworld is unconcerned with gender identity. If anything, the whole thing with the mages and the chantry is a basic metaphor with the "But we were born this way and it's OKAY!" kind of thing.
You just describled the plot of Dragon age 2.
But I really hope Bioware gets its act together for DA3, cause DA2 was a completely dissapointment on every level, except the voice actor for female Hawke did a great job. I had two really huge gripes with DA2:
1) Mages were heavily nerfed compared to DA:O in an unforgiveable manner. Chielfy they had their damage severely reduced and bosses were either made immune to CCs or given huge CC resistances, a huge nono when bosses are given unrealistically high cheating stats and when the player isn't in any way immune or resistant to mob CC.
2) The heavy handed deus ex machina story was insulting. Nothing was ever the logical continuation of the plot. Everyone acted like a complete madman, making decisions that made no sense. For example when you decide to side with the mages instead of the Templars, your character runs all the way back to the other side of the city to give the Templars a chance to gather all the Templars together when you could have just attacked and easily beaten the snot out of the completely undefended Meredith the moment you chose to side with the mages. But instead you tell Meredith you are siding with the mages, run to the other side of the city and then fight a huge wave of Templars in order to fight your way back to the exact point you were at when you told Meredith you were siding with the mages where you then fight Meredith who now has a lot of Templar reinforcements. Utter ♥♥♥♥. And to top it off, during the fight back to Meredith you detour into the mage tower to help the mages fight off the Templars, and the moment you finish killing the Templars and thus succeed in completely defending the mages, First Enchanter Orsino decides that all hope is lost and turns into an abomination because all the characters are completely and unforgiveably insane. And the other problem with all this is that there clearly aren't that many mages or Templars in Kirkwall, and yet you must have to fight through several hundred of them on your way back to the city's square.
The Qunari invasion in Act 2 actually made even less sense as there were at most a boatload of Qunari in the city, and yet they somehow manage to fight their way all the way to the king who didn't flee the city? And they fight their way to king despite the fact that you are slaughtering the Qunari left and right. Or you would have slaughtered the Qunari left and right if the game didn't tie your hands and prevent you from taking any action at all during the day that the Qunari attack on the city probably took. What exactly was your character doing during that time that prevented you from fending off the Qunari? You certainly weren't refusing to help fend off the Qunari because you were outnumbered considering you save the city by killing every single Qunari in it with just 4 people.
Yeap all mages other than you or your sister were blood mages Templars were just has nuts and the one guy who was not gets killed and the templars just take over a city.
The City Guard were sure the Qunari were going to attack but they did not even have a plan in place for when it happend.
The combat was jrpg hack & slash combat i did not mind the mage combat that much but the warrior was ♥♥♥♥ and then like you said fighting bosses was like hitting a wall even it sounded like hitting a wall and in the new trailer it shows an archer doing a 40ft back flip i will get it but not day 1.
