Agreed, but I argue quality over quantity, there's only one exclusively heterosexual choice for male inquisitors but if you want to romance sim to the max roll a female elf the only ones you can't romance are Dorian and Cassandra because they're gender gated.
Dorian and Cass are male only, Sera and Blackwall are fem only, any race. Bull and Josie are any gender any race. Solas is gender and race locked to female elf and Cullen won't smash unless you're a female human or elf.
From that we can conclude that the only ones you can't romance if you play a female elf are Cass and Dorian, making 6 romance options, compared to male inquisitor, of two women and two men. if you're rping a bi or gay inquis no problem, Dorian and Bull are the ♥♥♥♥, they'd make for a great bromance, Dorian would be a kickass wingman and I wouldn't mind a three way with Bull as long as he didn't diddaly my doodaly if you see what I'm sprayin.
For the straight male inquisitor you get two options, one mother floping two. ONE AHAHA TWO AHAHA, Cass is chantry crazy until later once you break those barriers down and she realizes she wants some comforting, and Josie, well I'm jaded from a past pseudo thing with a spanish girl and Antiva seems like it would be Spain. That and she seems too innocent to me. What happened with a romance like Morrigan and Isabella. HEY IT'S COLD WANNA BANG.
So nice place WANNA BANG.
Subtle classy hints like that, not MUH CHANTRY MUH SAVIOR ANDRASTE GUIDE ME OH MAKER, for me that kills the mood.
I'm working on Cass right now on my human mage for lack of a better choice, Josie's too innocent and there's something about non party romances I'm not fond of, but it's something new I may go for with my Qunari. My rogue's left with only Josie as a real choice since so far Cass isn't overly fond of his choice.
I may play my elf mage a bit once I get the other two to skyhold but I tend to explore and do a lot before going to skyhold, my qunari's 50xp from lvl 11 and he just got to skyhold, decided not to level him until I can unlock the special classes.
She also grew as a character and became even more attractive in the process..Should get used to it though its like BioWare have fun torturing guys nowadays:) Aveline anyone?
That is all
I'm torn right now for my mage, I heard you can tell the templars to not be templars anymore, that and the mages are so winey and act like children. Especially when I got to Haven after allying with them and one of the mages was in Cass's face complaining about wanting better quarters.
I was so annoyed with them and Fiona seems completely incompetant when it comes to leading, even so I'd romance the hell out of her.
What are the templars like for their mission? Do you still get Dorian? I'm going to assume he's presented differently to the group if he is and I'm not super into time travel since theoretically it's not linear.
You still get Dorian, but only after Haven. (Cole if the other way around)
You end up with Venetori as the Elder One's main faction, instead of Red Templars, along with the different henchman.
templars are zealots at the end of the day, tools for the chantry or corypheus
i did the mage quest and found it weird
but i think storywise mage is better
Yeah my latest playthrough is quite recent, stopped playing it about 3 days ago because my HDD is failing so waiting for a new one but scars were visible,
I understand peoples problem with Sera because of the way she talks but i'm British so i understand her in completely(she is my favorite character) plus there's a lesbo scene where you see your Inquisitor's and Sera's tits :P
I disagree with you about Rogues tho, i have played through as a Reaver, Tempest, Assassin and am currently playing Arcane Warrior and i have to say the Rogues either Archer Tempest and Duel Wield Assassin are the major damage dealers in the game, plus with the use of stealth and the flanking threat reduction they have really good survival skills, plus killing a character can remove the cooldown on stealth, i actually think the rogues are better done in DA:I than DA:O or DA2, the only thing i miss from DA:O is some of the classes like Legionnaire, Ranger, Blood Mage, Spirit warrior and so on
Flame flask lets you shoot around 4 archers lance in a row without using stamina and it causes no cooldowns which does more than almost any other class, combine it with stealth to increase the damage output, but the Assassin is an entirely different beast-i slapped Mark of Death on a dragon then used Hidden blades, twin fangs and a few normal hits, detonated Mark of Death early and done 38K in damage
The best combo of characters to use i found for your party is Inquisitor Assassin, Sera-Archer, Vivienne and Cassandra, this set-up will let you breeze through Nightmare difficulty, all quests and Dragons with no problems
As for which to side with Templars/Mages i have done both, siding with the mages makes the game a little more difficult, i find i tend to die more when facing Templars than the Venatori but siding with the Templars allows you to recieve 3 boosts for your Inquisitor's attributes and the mission just seems alot better plus it's the only time you'll get to face the Envy Demon
