Yeah everything seems to be ok. There is a long list of installed DLC and nothing in the "Available" list which was confusing at first but I assume that means available for purchase.
The list of installed DLC is too long to go through but it includes Awakening and a bunch of armor and other crap so hopefully I should be GTG.
(though upon checking the controls, the movement keys seem to be WQSE instead of WASD - the plot thickens)
It does tell me I need to log in for achievements, but I guess I'll find out if that's true or not upon playing the game. I assume that steam achievements would be automatic..
Activating DCL content in Ultimate edition

As far as key codes and access to the game: you are being taken care of automatically (enjoy: it doesn't always happen). You are good to go.
What is the DLC exactly? I have the dwarf merchant appearing in my camp, selling me the gifts that either increase or reduce favor by 50 (feels a bit like cheating so I assume this is DLC pay to win).
Bodahn appears in your camp anyway. The gifts and pranks DLC just add the weird items to his inventory.
They are kind of cheating, just meant to be funny or entertaining. The negative favor gifts, I presume, are there for those who want the stuff but not the easy approval. I wouldn't call any of it P2W, since it was released on April Fools Day some five months after the game.
Sadly, importing a Dragon Age: Origins file doesn't seem to be worth it, given none of the sequels have lived up to the original game. So far, at least. DA2 had potential but was ruined by its bugs, and DA:I came close; but the ending sucks. At least from what I've heard. I'll probably do it anyway though.
So, to sum it up, even though you own the game through steam, you can still link it (using the product keys) to an Origin account to record your progress and import a character over to a later game.
