999 Sound Issue

For some reason, a lot of the sound is missing from 999 but is perfectly fine for VLR. There are only a select few sounds that work as intended so far in 999, such as the 'Seek a Way Out!' jingle, but background music and voices seem to be absent. Is there a solution to this?

I'm having the same issue. Reinstalling OpenAL didn't help.

I was having this issue as well but I just fixed it (reinstalling OpenAL didn't help). I had to disable every playback device except for my headphones.

What worked for me:
Apparently I had a faulty OpenAL installation in my computer. So I uninstalled it (using add/remove programs on Windows), rebooted my PC and installed OpenAL through the Steam directory (Steam/steamapps/common/Steamworks Shared/_CommonRedist/OpenAL/2.0.7.0/oalinst.exe). Hope this works for you.
