Do I have to ever betray someone in VLR to get True Ending? [No Spoilers Please]

I think I have gone down every path without Betraying anyone so far. And I am stuck. Now there are other branching paths that maybe don't need me to choose Betray but I'm not sure. I'm not very far into the game I'm basically suck at two locks and the Two Headed Lion Password? In order to proceed do I need to betray or should I look harder?

I do think so yes, you need to hit several bad ends to get all you need

In VLR i think you need to get somewhere around 80% of all endings to get the true ending
edit: i dont mean like 80% total i meant like out of all endings you need some specific endings, and those are a large majority of the endings

Yes, you have to betray people to get to the true ending.

Yes: only one of the nine endings is possible to achieve without ever hitting betray.
