Patch to turn off Junpei voice acting?
In my opinion games like this are better when the protagonist doesn't speak, but everyone else does. As 999 is now in this version, it's just a nonstop deluge of VA with no rest for your ears. I prefer how VLR does it.

Does anyone know of a patch to turn off Junpei VA, but leave the rest on? If not, anyone want to create that patch/mod? I'll gladly play you $$ (within reason lol).

Also if this feature is actually in the game let me know, I haven't checked in a while, played this on Vita and that option was not available, assuming the same here.

Well to be fair, VLR has a pretty good reason for it

Was gonna say this.
And honestly the only reason VLR does it is because of it

...Technically....Junpei isn't the protagonist.

Wow..... Blew my mind.

Also, yeah. It was very jarring to play this version of the game where there is voice, tbh. I believe the iOS version also had him being little sound effects (like the rest of the cast) - like the DS release. I'd love a patch, but I doubt it'll come.

I want this patch too. I've been holding off playing the remaster version because I can't stand Junpei talking every minute. And since I couldn't find such a patch anywhere, I did a little research on how to do it myself.

I was able to extract the game bin data (ze1_data.bin) using the QuickBMS tool and have access to every game asset. The audio files were all named and sorted randomly. If I want to remove Junpei's voice, I will have to listen to every voice file one by one, replace only Junpei with "silent" audio files, then reimport them into the bin file. I only plan to replace the Japanese files, but it's still quite a lot.

I wonder if there is a way to "detect" only Junpei and then replace them automatically. If anyone knows, please help.
