Why FFS Alice is wearing this? (minor spoiler alert)

Considering she is an operative, it's kind of inappropriate, dress code and everything.
My only complaint is that whenever I got stuck with her in the same room I had to make 5 minute breaks, you know, occasionally, which got my mind away from puzzles and distanced me from completing the game. Brought other joys though...

I think the idea is that she's wearing the kind of outfit that wouldn't make anyone think of her as an operative, which is why it's so inappropriate.

I think that Uchikoshi (game creator) did this to Purposely throw off the player, making them think that she's Alice (all-ice)

It makes her look like Pebbles from The Flinstones, he he!

It's a Japanese thing, sadly. Whoever was in charge of the art direction wanted to make sure there was one woman exposing huge breasts in every game. Some people say this is because Japan is more progressive and open about sexuality.

But then you hear things like how creators acknowledged that Misty from Pokemon was removed specifically so eye-candy for male viewers could be swapped out each season, and you understand its just perversion and sexism at the expense of storytelling. Fortuntely Alice, like Lotus, ends up making for a decent character anyway, at least in the English translation.

EDIT in 2024: Years later I've come around to reject this view of sexuality and the way I called artists perverted for expressing it. I don't think Alice is a problem.
