But then you hear things like how creators acknowledged that Misty from Pokemon was removed specifically so eye-candy for male viewers could be swapped out each season, and you understand its just perversion and sexism at the expense of storytelling. Fortuntely Alice, like Lotus, ends up making for a decent character anyway, at least in the English translation.
EDIT in 2024: Years later I've come around to reject this view of sexuality and the way I called artists perverted for expressing it. I don't think Alice is a problem.
