Q room in VLR controls?

There is this puzzle with a cube that says that correct plates need to be highlighted in cyan. So, eh, how the hell do I highlight any tile with cyan? LMB just highlights the tile and the near ones in yellow and that's all that works. Tried plugging in the gamepad, still no dice.

You have to highlight the tiles on the walls. You click on the grid of the cube to guess which tiles you need to click on ( it's like a minesweeper ), then you click on the wall behind and reproduce the pattern by cliking on the right tiles. ;)
