Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening

Ultimate upgrade?
Will there ever be the option for upgrading to the ultmate edition, as available for some steam games? I bought the game originally before the ultimate edition was available, and it seems like a huge waste of money to buy the entire copy again, and it is also a waste playing the game without all the dlc...

I sure wish the awakening expansion (the only dlc you can even purchase on Steam) included the rest of the DLC like Ultimate Edition does. Alternatively, make it possible to gift the old copy for people that already have Dragon Age: Origins and want to buy the Ultimate Edition.

I agree. Why can I not upgrade my steam version of Dragon Age Origins to the ultimate edition for $2.49 ? Ultimate edition $7.49 minus Origins $4.99 = ultimate upgrade $2.49. Why do the early adapters always get screwed?

It's $5.50. You're not getting screwed.

What are you talking about? You're obviously not comprehending the topics discussed here. 7.49 - 4.99 = 2.50 NOT 5.50. Please read the entire thread and try to use your brain before opening your pie-hole and trolling in here. Even buying the Awakening expansion for 4.99 would not get one the 9 content packs included in the Ultimate edition.
I personally would be willing to pay for the expansion at 5.00 if it included the 9 content packs, I mean what is the point of even selling just the expansion without the other part. I just don't undersand the logic. Is it greed, because this is a very popular game and millions have already owned it for years is this just a plot to have us rebuy the game to get the missing pieces. The missing content feels like missing pieces because it asks you do you want to do the whatever quests and then pops up the you need such and such content. Just annoying!

I agree with NWO is 666 and MMMTastyTacos. Whilst we're only talking about a couple of bucks, I've owned the original Dragon Age: Origins since launch, but have no equitably priced way to upgrade to the Ultimate edition with Awakenings, AND all 9 content packs, without repurchasing the original game. Continues to irritate me after many years.

i just bought awakening because I already own origins. your saying I still do not own the whole game? that sucks. What dlc am I missing - i dont see any other dlc in the store?

The Awakening Expansion Pack doesn't include the nine content packs that are included in the Ultimate Edition bundle. You may have received The Stone Prisoner & Warden's Keep in your original "Digital Deluxe Edition" purchase, (like I did for $43.54), but the following content is only available from the in-game DLC menu or the Bioware/EA site purchased with Bioware Points at their original launch day full price.

* Return to Ostagar - 400
* The Darkspawn Chronicles - 400
* Leliana's Song - 560
* The Golems of Amgarrak - 560
* Witch Hunt - 560
* Feastday Gifts - 160
* Feastday Pranks - 160

The 2,640 Bioware Points required to purchase these packs today would cost $34 (1x1,600@$20 * 2x560@$7).

That means, for me to upgrade from the original Dragon Age Origins (currently $4.99) to the Ultimate Edition (currently $7.49 - difference of $2.49) it would cost me $38.99! - $4.99 for Awakenings and $34 for the content packs I don't already own. A $36.50 penalty for being an early adopter of the game.

This is why I will never purchase a Bioware or EA game at launch ever again.

Bump (becuase Steam Sale etc.)

The reason why you cant is simple - EA wants you to buy it on Origin instead.

Apparently buying Awakening gives you Ultimate Editionas well (at least steam store says I own it now)if you already have Origins (if not get the current Humble Bundle);plus you can redeem the CD Key on Origin.

Really? Did you check if you have all the DLC for it? For example, I can buy Origins and Awakening, but Ultimate is not for sale in my region (though I got it gifted by a friend).
