Not Registering Input

Human Fall Flat is not registering inputs for me (at least, the vast majority of the time). I have had it register inputs briefly after restarting, enough to get past “Press Any Key to Start”, but nothing past that. It is however aware of cursor position, as I am able to hover over the menu buttons but not click them. I am playing on an M1 Pro MacBook Pro (2021).

had the same issue after changing graphics settings to low,

(start game in full screen, then leave cursor at top of screen so that menu bar appears, then keyboard inputs should work, which i used to change my graphics settings back to high)
