I tell you what: 90% of games are being abandaned eventually and all players will call it a "dead game" whenever you talk about them. Just look at your youtube timeline and u will see that even actively updated and played games get called out for being dead. I am not saying that the recent updates of HFF were flawless, but the urge of devs keeping their game alive (esp. with FREE content) should be cheered and not called a desperate move. The 10% of game that is not left in a corner after the main hype is gone should be able to embrace the rest of the players staying because of these updates!
Then it's as simple as not getting them. I don't know what the fuss about the new achievements is about then. If it's buggy, don't get them. If you don't think the game should keep getting updates, don't play it when there is an update to artificially boost players, let it die.
New maps are buggy sure, but no one is pointing a gun at your head and making you play the buggy maps against your will. You are literally playing the game (what it feels like, against your better judgement) just to get 4 new pictures added to your steam profile.
You are just fueling the entire problem you are complaining about. You have free will, stop doing it.
You said you played the map 4 times to get 1 achievement because the triggers were wonky, if that isn't compulsive behaviour, I don't know what is, you are literally doing something you don't like (at least that's what it feels like) for the sake of a virtual image.
I played through it once, some achievements didn't work, I'm not playing it again, at least not in the forseeable future or until they fix it.
You also fail to see that the game goes on sale pretty much everytime there is an update, and for a game that costs 5€ on sale where you can have spend a fun time with some friends, that is going to bring a lot of people in. Since there is not much replayability involved, most new players will prolly play through it once and shelve it. I would bet that a cheap game where you can spend some time with your buddies is a much better player boost than returning achievement hunters.
You don't understand bro, it's IMPOSSIBLE to add new content WITHOUT achievements. Oh, wait, EVERY Dark Souls did it with their PAID dlc's... AND PEOPLE BOUGHT IT REGARDLESS. No way! It's almost as if you DON'T need more achievements to keep your game alive, but actual good content. It's almost as if devs who add achievements to their games know VERY WELL that it will force some players to come back despite the ♥♥♥♥ content. Which turns into indirect publicity and increases their sales for a certain period. To say they are adding content for free is extremely ignorant, no one works for free. It's nice to keep the game updated (and despite how literally no one complained about the updates themselves, they are still some goobers who think this is what we are complaining about), but forcing everyone who, frankly, got robbed out of their 100% is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move. Obviously, people are going to complain wtf did you expect? "Oh bUt dUdE YoU dOnt haVE tO dO tHem" Sure, I should just give up a 50 hours grind on this piece of ♥♥♥♥ because the devs had a marketing impulse one morning, understandable have a great day!
The irony of you saying that, right after diagnosing everyone here with compulsion disorder is just wild, a bit of self-awareness wouldn't hurt I think.
It took me 2 seconds to find out https://prnt.sc/B7A27RYfjSI9 🤡
I didn't diagnose everyone here, if the hat fits you it's your problem, not mine.
Don't worry they'll be more examples. You throw that word around everywhere, barely knowing what it really means. Almost like... a compulsion.
↓ this guy is a bum ↓
Nah, you really need to tell me, you know nothing about my life.
Is it that I played a lot of games in the last 10 years? Don't see why that's an addiction.
72 hours in the past 2 weeks, whatever I do with my free time is my own perogative.
Last time I checked my family wasn't calling me that chores needed to be done, and my boss wasn't calling me that I had work overdue. My life doesn't stop because I play video games.
I used an impersonation to prove a point. There are people who will connect with it, and there are others who won't, I really don't know why on earth would that count as diagnosing someone.
I'll keep it here, this is absolutely going nowhere at this point, cuz if all we are gonna do is go at each other forever, I'd rather go do other things. Have a nice day.
