PC & Mobile cross-play

I've been trying to play with my friend that is on an Ipad. I'm on my PC. I've tried several times through public lobbies, but we can't even see the same servers. I also can't invite him because he's not a "friend". There isn't a way to even add him as a friend. Can someone please help?

As far as I know, there is no mobile to PC Crossplay.
