personally i dont think thre is a story i think the base is there that bob wakes up in a dream like state and just mindlessley completes the challenges set before him. However the lack of story allows a the player too make up their own story.
If i really had to put a story to it, It almost seems like the inspiration for Human: Fall Flat is when you fall off your bed while sleeping and in your dream you fall aswell, well possibly this happened to Bob except this time bob didnt wake up.
