How the hell do I play local co-op?

There is no split screen option in the main menu. Plugging in a controller doesn't automatically add a second player. Both the keyboard and the controller control the same character. So how can I go into split screen mode?

Doesn't seem to work for me, I think it's something to do with my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller. Thanks anyway.

Yeah, I don't own the game on steam. We were trying to play it with friends without internet connection, and I asked from the steam app on my phone.

Wtf crap is that? I've been wondering myself. Beaten several of what i assumed were tutorial levels beginning to wonder if I was ever going to "unlock" coop. How in the hell were we supposed to know to do that?

I have 2 wireless 360 controllers and my gf hit every button on the 2nd one and did nothing.

don't just hit all the buttons, hold both triggers down at the same time. on both controllers/mouses

that's kinda idiotic though, why can't i click "start game" in the main menu and then choose from single player / local co-op?

and if im playing single, why can't i press escape and click on "add second player" or something? that's just common sense. co-op and local co-op can give game sales a huge boost, if a game has such a mode, the devs should make it as clear as possible... it boggles my mind how the devs didn't realize they should at least mention how to play freaking coop...

That's cool and all, but shouldn't be necessary at all. Nevermind a menu option, even just a simple on-screen HUD indicator at the beginning to let u know would have been acceptable.

Thanks for all the feedback. Answering 10s of similar questions I kind of noticed that I forgot to "advertise" coop in the game itself. Next update will have that.

@NoBrakesGames - Is this game compatible for mutliplayer on different PC's. I simply can't seem to access the local co-op option and invite my husband to play. Please help as I only purchased the game for my husband and I to be able to play together :)

local. means LOCAL.

You'll have to plug in a spare controller into a single computer.
