How do I respawn?

I have tried /kill /die /respawn in console and chat

i spent ages getting stuff ready and i got stuck lodaing checkpoint will ruin it

There seriously needs to be a respawn option that doesn't reset the checkpoint. I got stuck clipped through the level twice in a half hour-long session and could only reset the checkpoint and lose all of my progress as a solution.
