Stuck at 'Water'

At the end of the 'Water' level, I blocked the big ferris wheel by taking some piece of wood into it. I thought that blocking the wheel might be part of the solution to progress.

The good news: I succeeded and got the ferris wheel stuck.
The bad news: it seems the wheel must actually be moving to get me further...

I'm unable to reach the piece of wood and remove it. (It's right under the waterfall.)

Does anyone have suggestions? Or is there really nothing else to do but restart the entire level?

iv just climbed the ferris wheel wall at the beginning of level, then i pulled the lever and jumped in, but the game knew i cheated and did not register the save, even tho it let me progress to the next level..

Okay, my problem was solved by just restarting the game and reloading the save... Some stuff got reset and the wheel was turning again.

(Didn't happen when I used the "Reload checkpoint" option earlier.)
