The Frozen Dawn Boss Fight
Can someone please tell me what the ♥♥♥♥ I'm doing wrong at the boss fight of The Frozen Dawn. In solo, 4 times now, I've managed to "kill" him a.k.a. get him to sit back down in his throne, then the short cutscene plays. And then it cuts back to gameplay with him charging up or something. I empty the remainder of my ammunition into him while he stands back up. He does this swatting away gesture and I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get instakilled. Regardless of how much health/armor I have left, regardless of how much ammo, I die instantly. I've tried grabbing the hammer from the back of the map and tossing that at him with zero result. Nowhere on the Youtube walkthroughs does happen to anyone else. Nor can I find any info stating that such and such must be done post-boss fight or whatever to ensure he doesn't get back up. The various guns I've used during these boss fight session are the 9mm SAP (single & akimbo), M1911, BAR, MG15, Volksturmgewehr etc. (obviously all Pack-A-Punched).

Never use the 9mm Sap for this fight

Yeah, I noticed that the 9mm SAP isn't all that effective on this boss fight, even with Frontline & Vicious activivated. Now that you mention the M1, I realise that I have taken it (again, obviously Pack-A-Punched) into the boss fight before, but I don't think I managed to get him down in that run, so I'll definately give it another go.
So, is it as simple as only shooting him in the head and that's it?

Thanx for the advice man. Did exactly what you said. Used the M1 Garand, went to town on his head and boom, down he went. Easter egg completed.
Weird thing is, I saw a walkthrough video on Youtube (can't remember who it was), and that dude was also playing solo and DID NOT fire a single shot at the boss after he attempts to get back up. And that seemed to also work.
Anyway, don't care anymore, cause I've finally comepleted it!

You have to buy the Season Pass. On PC (for WWII at least) you cannot buy the individual DLC's like you can on consoles, you have to buy the entire Season Pass which includes all 4 DLC's. The Frozen Dawn is part of DLC4.
