COD WW2 won't launch --- FIX!!!
Out of the blue, I could not get the game to launch. It quickly just went to the pop-up "safe mode" screen and then immediatly shut down. This went on for several days as I tried all of the 'normal' solutions like opeing the task manager, etc.

However, I tried to run another steam game and endced up with a pop-up message about Kernal Debugging. It neede to be turned off to run the game. I followed the instructions and it worked for COD WW2!!

Here is what they suggested - Open the command prompt and run it as administrator. Type bcdedit -set DEBUG OFF and press enter. The line should read something like "operation successful". Shut down the window and re-boot your PC.

CAUTION - Im not an expert and i do not know if this is a 'big deal' in terms of PC management, etc, so try at your own risk. It worked for me!!! Good luck

Start to verify game cache....under library, games select your game, rightclick it , select properties, local files and choose verify integrity of game files..
if there would be a file damaged or missing..it will be downloaded again..

Target, you may have misinterpreted my note. I was publishing a FIX for the issue that I had. Verifying the game files did not work for me, but the BCDEDIT did work. Just another option for folks to try, if the others don't work

So this post actually helped me fix the issue on my end. My solution was this: because I did see a live kernel issue, I checked how to fix THAT, and it turns out to be a USB issue. I unplugged EVERY unnecessary USB device, leaving the mouse, then ran the game and it booted up perfectly. So either something you have plugged in is sending whack signals, your USB port needs an update, or one is fried. I did notice as well in device manager that when the game wasn't launching, one of my USB drivers DID have the caution symbol on it, and after unplugging that port the game ran. Hope this helps!
