Fix For Direct X Crash
This gets rid of the device hung error in ww2

1. Simply go to your registry: Start --> Run --> Type in "Regedit" or search for Regedit
2. Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" and create a key of type "DWORD (32-bit)" and name "TdrLevel" with a value of 0 as Decimal value.
3. Reboot and play :)

What does that do, and how do we know that isn't going to break our PC's?

If you don't trust this guide, like I'm a bit skeptical, you can fix this entirely with just tweaking your Graphics Settings for the time being until a patch is provided. The fix: set your Texture Resolution to High and set the 7 last graphics options to OFF in Advanced Settings. Cheers.

Timeout Detection and Recovery(TDR) is what is causing the game to crash and causing the device hung error message, by setting TdrLevel to 0 you prevent a timeout in game which causes the crash. This error is not new for ww2 I have been getting it since launch because of my overclocked gpu. This is how I fixed it.

If you dont trust it google tdr timeout causing crashe. This is what the reg edit does to bypasses the timeout time so the game doesnt crash because it thinks the grapics card has fell over or is taking too long to exicute a command. It's pc 101 really

Didn't work for me, upon crashing it now just freezes the whole PC (voice chat still works so seems like the graphics driver fails) only way to recover is to reset PC

No difference whether outdated drivers (both amd/nvidia) or latest, SHG and Activision really need to learn about Q/A testing. £50 for game and £40 for DLC I can't play properly... Shouldn't be up to people like you to botch their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in order for us to play. Thank you for your efforts anyway!
