In gamepad settings, there's an option to enable or disable guest gamepad. Make sure that is set to disabled. Let me know if that solves it for you.
I have even tryed going into big picture mode then disconnecting my m/kb and then plugging in my controller then loading into the game but it does not fix this issue
Have you properly enabled your gamepad in the WWII settings?
Also when navigating the menus, do the controller buttons show or the keyboard keys?
A few more questions, how are you connecting your controller to your pc?
Bluetooth, wired, and/or are you using an emulator?
i am using a ps4 controller that is connected by wire and i am just using pic picture mode on steam
Apologies for the late response. I have a few more questions for you regarding this issue as I'd like to figure out what could be causing this.
- Do you happen to have a Steam controller wireless receiver plugged in?
- When playing a game in split-screen, are you the bottom player or the top player when using your controller?
- Have you tried playing WWII without big picture mode enabled?
- Are you using any third-party software for button mapping?
- You mentioned that it worked for awhile, how long were you able to play with controller enabled prior to it recognizing two players?

I'm using a PlayStation Dual Shock 4 wired.
- When playing a game in split-screen, are you the bottom player or the top player when using your controller?
It makes you control both top and bottom players at the same time.
- Have you tried playing WWII without big picture mode enabled?
Yes, it makes no difference.
- Are you using any third-party software for button mapping?
No

It probably started when Splitscreen was introduced, in the patch.
When trying to change the Guest Gamepad, it stays stuck on XInput Controller 1. It has the arrows like you can change it, but nothing happens.
For both you and magus, you cannot disable guest gamepad at all, correct? Is that when you have your controller plugged in and working properly?
I messed with the settings myself to see what might be causing this for you guys.
It seems when you have your controller connected and you disable gamepad, the controller that is plugged in will default to the guest gamepad. I highly suggest disabling gamepad and then with KB/M change guest gamepad to "disabled" then proceed to enable gamepad again.
Disabling guest gamepad manually while already having gamepad disabled should work in regards to the game recognizing two players.
