Triangle Markers above enemy's head
I've notice on maps where you use smoke, I've watched the replay and snipers can see you through the smoke with a triangle above your head. I had not fired a shot, and had not been shot for an espionage type thing. Is that in the game or did I witness external forces at play?

Hey there,

Did you see the triangles during kill cams?

Yes, those triangles only appear during kill cams to show you where you were during all that. Don't worry, the triangles don't appear during actual gameplay. They don't benefit the enemy team whatsoever as only you can see the triangles.

In previous games, for example MW2, that was where it said "YOU" in the killcam, showing where you are in killcams ONLY - this is the way they do it in WW2, the little Arrow/Triangle thing is the "YOU" marker and appears ONLY in killcams.

Being able to see people through smoke was in the Beta too. BUT MUCH WORSE.... it's harder to see people but you can still see them.... sadly.

Hmm maybe a really lucky shot then , was strange he seemed to home right in on a headshot and you couldn't see me in the smoke. Thanks for the info!

The triangle is just a part of the replay, marking you so you can see people tracking you when they can't actually see you in game. People using wallhacks can see you through walls and smoke. If the triangle marker wasn't there on the replay, you couldn't see that they were tracking you exactly as you moved.

I figured it had to be in the game, but I wasn't sure. But the way he was able to home right in on me was very curious, I've sniped through smoke many times, and its like tossing a coin if you even hit them let alone head shot a few times in a row.

If he was walling he could have seen you as if there was no smoke, or if he was botting he could lock on to you, no matter if he could see you or not.
