COD WW2 PC STUTTERS, and GAME FREEZES 1-2 SECONDS
Ok, so yesterday when I was playing COD WW2, it was running pretty fine and smooth. then the next day december 21 sledghammer dropped the update with the BUFFED SMG'S, I've notcied that my game was running pretty bad, My game has been stuttering all day long. I checked my GPU drivers and everything is up to date. I tried playing other games and they run prefectly fine. It's only COD WW2 that is having the stutters issue and game freezes for 1-2 seconds. It's hard to play. I have never ran into such a problem like this one before and it;s really annoying -_-

Any ideas?

Hi I had this problem too and I think I found a fix (for now)

I had a mcafee virus protector that would slow down my pc when I would be on the web browser. So I figured maybe it was slowing down my game app. So I uninstalled it in the control panel and now the game runs flawless.

My graphic settings are set at

I have a i5 processor 6th gen

Nvida gtx 1050 graphics card 2GB

Display Mode: Fullscreen

Screen refresh rate:59.94 Hz

Sync every frame: on

Maximum fps:60fps(you can go higher if you want)

Display resolution:1920x1080

Render resolution:Native 1920x1080

Post process anti- aliasing: Filmic SMAA 1X

For the rest of the graphic settings I have them at the lowest settings they will go

And the only thing I have set to "ON" is the Shader preload

Hope this helps!

for me it was nvidia experience overlay. I disabled it and stutters were gone.

1050 GTX ti 60 hz

most inportant

Sync every frame off = no imput lag

Post proces anti- Aliasing FxAA = higher fps

Shader preload off

Dept of field high

all textures extra

shadows of low

fps 120

WaW 2 works like a charm no lag very smooth

This last nvidia update has royally screwed this game up for me, constant freezes now, trying to use the fighter plane scorestreak is unusable, the whole thing just freezes and can't even move.
Perfectly fine before this.

net stop wuauserv
Put that into your console. make sure you run it as administrator. Will stop the automatic windows update searches. this is what causes me problems. due it once everytime you turn on your computer.

This will fix your issues. Even if it doesn't, it's going to rule out HDD fragmentation and OS bloat as a culprit. So it's important to at least do this, but in your case, since it happened after a patch, it's probably all you need to do.

It's copy/pasted from another thread, but just follow the actual steps and your game will be smooth again, probably smoother than ever (whole system, all around, should feel pretty much like a nearly brand new windows install):

We aren't talking about network lag spikes, right? We are talking about hitching/pausing/freezing, yes? That would point to a hard drive issue being too slow, but it doesn't mean it's not fixable or that the hard drive is going bad.

It could also be wrong, but these simple steps will rule it out if so, and improve your PC overall in the meantime. Everyone who reads this post should do this to their computer, especially after a few windows updates from time to time.

The following steps are beneficial to anyone, but might help you directly.

This assumes you are using a mechanical drive (not SSD, if SSD, use routines for that setup instead). Again, if you have SSD, use SSD maintenance instead. Auslogics has a SSD optimizer as well, if you prefer to try that.

1: Run CCleaner with your preferred settings and run cleaner + registry cleaner, fix all issues, repeat registry until it stops finding stuff (some fixes will introduce new null or false entries). Close CCleaner. Delete anything large on hard drive you are not using anymore or can get again later (makes next step faster and more efficient). Reboot.

2: Use Auslogics Disk Defrag. Run once as regular defrag, we will add optimize pass at a later time when there is more time and we are not busy figuring out why WW2 isn't smooth.

C: Click start menu and type immediately "disk cleanup" - check all boxes, click button to begin, check more boxes, run it. This will take quite some time but will be the most beneficial. Upon completion, run ccleaner processes again (there will be both new junk to clean and new bad registry entries). When done ccleaner, Reboot.

4: simple Auslogics defrag setting again.

5: Ensure there is no gforce experience optimization settings on the game.

6: Set your nvidia control panel for this game exactly like this:

You can also turn on vsync "FAST" option - it is a first person shooter friendly version of vsync that syncs frames without limiting internal GPU frames (use game setting to limit to your desired FPS), so you don't get input/local lag.

Now you've done all that, if it works, Great! If not, try this:

In-Game settings:
Try with shader cache on.

Do not use AA of any kind. Prefer higher internal resolution instead to downscale. It will be less lag as a bonus (AA of all kinds other than fxaa are slower than bumping up internal render resolution).

If your game isn't running perfect now, I am shocked.

Try my post above and see if you can turn back on your overlay/shadowplay. Let me know how it works out.
