Issue with kill counters

Is it a bug that my kill counters are not showing on my guns in war mode? Or is it meant to be that way? I am aware that score streaks and current kill count will not apply but the overall kills should still be showing. The kills you get in war may not be part of your k/d ratio but the kills are still being counted.

As someone who only plays war mode for the most part, this is quite frustrating. I spent a lot of time to prestige various guns to unlock the kill counters but they are not showing for me. I have reported this issue to Activision support but I doubt they have the time to look into this with all the other issues. I have also tried chatting with someone directly but only can get in contact with an Ambassador, and they say I need to contact Activision directly..

Anyone else having this issue or know anything more?

That's normal as K/D does not count in War mode.

Your kills on your weapons still go up from War, War affects everything, except for your KD.

To the OP it seems like the Kill Counters Prestige Option is buggy for pretty much all weapons. It works sometimes, but most of the time it doesn't.

#zacharyb I have never seen the kill counters work in war mode but I have never had an issue with them in other modes. I just hope this does not get overlooked by more pressing matters of cheaters, frame rate drops, server issues, etc.

I think i've seen it work once or twice in War, but I could be wrong.

Anyone else feel free to chime in on your own experience with kill counters. Or even if you are experiencing issues in other game modes.

Its usless to prestige weapons to prestige 2 to get killcounter on it... Everyone know how to check status of kills and death... i stop after 3 or 4 weapons to prestige 2 and no more. Its more important to prestige rank and divisions. And all those useless emblems for pistol... wth for waste of nothing. Every drop has one or two and you can be sure you got 10 of the same from earlier drop, and you forget to use them because noone see them at all. IF you are lucky to get a usefull weapon, its still locked, because your not high enough in rank or you have to use a token to open it....

Thank you Pure & Rustic. We now have guns in supply drops which is not cool, I thought Sledgehammer said they wouldn't be doing that with this game. I guess it's the same as what happened in Black Ops.

I've the kill counter on a few rifles and it depends on what map you're on whether it shows or not, because of the colour they render the counter in, its just another slack bit of programing.

Also depends on the variant. All they need to do to make sure it always shows is use a black background with white numbers on it but its just something else they never gave a thought to.

Thanks Elf! I am glad to hear some people are able to see the counters, I will need to have a look over at my guns, I have around 10 guns unlocked with the counter but have not tried all of them yet since I am working on leveling things up first.

Funny..when I try and go to Activision support, it gives me an error page and simply redirects me to the cod ww2 main site.
